Deserved is an understatement.
Avery Anna has been one of our favourites ever since we first started hearing ‘Just Cause I Love You’ and ‘I Love You More’ back in 2021, and it's wonderful to see the Arizona native getting her flowers off the back of her latest album, let go letters.
The project was released to widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike in May, with Anna compiling letters she'd been sent by fans detailing some truly heartbreaking situations, and offering them a voice through this collection of musical interpretations of those stories. It's raw, it's visceral and it's beautifully empathetic.
Now, Anna is preparing to embark on her headlining Let Go Letters Tour, which will take the ‘Indigo’ hitmaker across Indiana, Michigan, New York, Colorado and more this Fall.
The ‘Mr. Predictable’ singer-songwriter has taken to socials to express her immense gratitude as she reflects on her journey so far, with Anna heartwarmingly revealing her pride and excitement at getting to experience the first official “bus call” of her blossoming career - i.e. the strict departure time for the tour-bus.
The country phenom begins by recalling, “This time last year, I was driving a van around the country with a small band like two or three people max, just trying to play my music and tour and grind and get into that part of my life and career. And it was so much fun, and it was such a grind - so much lost sleep - but it was so worth it, because the shows were just amazing and connecting with people”.
Anna goes on, “I haven't really been doing this for that long, but I just feel really overwhelmed and grateful. And this sounds so stupid, I don't even know why I'm getting emotional, and it won't sound like that big of a deal to you, but it's a big deal to me. Tonight, I have my first bus call for my tour, which means I have a crew and people that believe in me and that want to support me and work to get the show done and put it together, so I can travel a lot easier and hopefully play even more shows”.
Anna movingly concludes, “And I'm just really grateful for that, and I just wanted to say thank you guys, because it's literally because of you. This has all been going so fast, so it's hard for me to even process it, but I just sat in my car for a second and just thought about it, and I just felt like I should say, truly, thank you. And your guys’ support means everything to me. I love what I do, and I'm so grateful to get to do it. Music is so healing, and so I'm grateful to be a part of it”.
An array of fellow artists have shared their support for Anna in the comments, including Megan Moroney, who has gushed, “U deserve it queen”. Similarly, Haven Madison toasts, “The most deserving”, while Emily Ann Roberts also pays homage to Anna, thoughtfully underlining, “So so proud of you!!!!! You have earned it”.
The emotional depth and vulnerability Anna laces into her music, while still enveloping these in lush, cushioning melodies and instrumentation, is second to none in the modern country landscape. We're just glad to see the ‘vanilla’ crooner getting the credit her music has always warranted, and we're already looking forward to Anna's let go letters follow-up, which will hopefully be arriving in 2026...
