Following last year's refreshingly eclectic concept album, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, the Arkansas native hasn't wasted any time in continuing this momentum with the release of more music.
In February 2023, Ashley McBryde made the beautifully evocative and vulnerable ‘Light On In The Kitchen’ available, which fans are hoping signifies the start of a new album rollout.
McBryde introduced the single by underlining that she has no intentions of leaving listeners hanging for too long in-between releases, writing, “You know me, as soon as we put out new music... first thing I want to do is put out more new music. I can, I am, I will”.
Shortly after this revelation, Ashley McBryde stayed true to her word, as she confirmed she'd be releasing her next album, The Devil I Know, on September 8th. It'll feature other celebrated recent singles, such as the title-track and ‘Learned To Lie’.
Avid followers of Ashley McBryde were keeping a particularly close eye on any news relating to the upcoming project's tracklist, with the ‘One Night Standards’ hitmaker having previously teased a much-loved unreleased song, ‘Women Ain't Whiskey’.
Thankfully, the fiery, rock-tinged track will at long last be getting an official release as part of The Devil I Know.
Also set to appear on the upcoming album is an impressive suite of previously unheard songs, such as ‘Coldest Beer In Town’, ‘Whiskey and Country Music’ and ‘Blackout Betty’, the latter of which certainly sounds like it could've originally been intended for Ashley McBryde's much-loved 2022 concept album, Lindeville.
Interestingly, the final track on The Devil I Know will be ‘6th Of October’. Given the fact that Ashley McBryde received her coveted invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry on October 6th 2022, it appears this album-closer will be a tribute to that moment.
