After a lot - and we mean a lot - of teasing, Morgan Wallen's ‘20 Cigarettes’ music video is now out in the world. While some fans were disappointed the long-rumoured 2026 tour unveiling didn't arrive alongside it, we think the ‘Love Somebody’ hitmaker has dropped some clues in the video hinting that the announcement is imminent.
The cinematic visuals serve largely as a continuation of the ‘I Got Better’ music video, with Wallen lighting up a cigarette at the start of the night, before finding himself surrounded by...well, by himself. The Sneedville native saunters through the dark, minimalist staging, while different scenes from past dates play out in front of him.
It's a clever storyline that brings to life the compelling songwriting of the track, which was penned by Blake Pendergrass, Chase McGill, Josh Miller and Chris LaCorte - but what's piqued our attention is what the various versions of Wallen are wearing...
Eagled-eyed aficionados - or ‘Wallenteers’, as his fanbase has come to be known in recent months - have spotted that the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper is donning outfits from previous tour-dates. The main version of Wallen, for instance, wears the now-iconic all-denim look with a blue Field & Stream cap, which we first saw when he performed at the MetLife Stadium in New York in May 2024.
You'll also see Wallen' dressed in his orange and blue polo, which he wore for Night Two at Toronto's Rogers Centre during the final stretch of his 2025 I'm the Problem Tour. He even wears his outfit from his special, one-night-only show at London's Roundhouse back in March - a black vest with a tan workwear jacket.
Of course, this could be incidental - but knowing Wallen and the relationship he has with his fans, we suspect these are intentional easter eggs, particularly given the fact that the ‘Thought You Should Know’ crooner has been teasing a 2026 tour of late.
We reckon these outfit choices from past tours are indications that the tour announcement is approaching. Bearing in mind that Wallen is wearing the same outfits he wore for New York, Toronto and London shows, we're hoping this means he'll be returning to these cities as part of his yet-to-be-unveiled 2026 series of dates.
The new video comes after he shared a tongue-in-cheek post, teasing fans with the impending announcement, “What I do when I’m trying to decide if ima tour in ‘26 or not”.
With ‘20 Cigarettes’ serving as the focus-track and Country Radio single for the foreseeable future, we wouldn't be surprised if this next run is called The 20 Cigarettes Tour...
