Wake up! 49 Winchester have just unveiled their latest song, 'Fast Asleep.'
The new tune joins the band's previously released track 'Yearnin' For You' as a part of their forthcoming album, Leavin’ This Holler.
“This tune is an emotional sledgehammer," shares the band's lead singer and guitarist Isaac Gibson. "I wrote it when I was 19 years old, as one of the very first 49 Winchester songs. We used to play it live, back in those earliest days, but it somehow worked its way out of the setlist. We knew it was still a great song and wanted to breathe new life into it, and I think we achieved that."
'Fast Asleep' not only showcases the best of the Virginia-bred six-piece, but it also features the riveting work of the Prague-based Czech National Symphony Orchestra. "The sounds they were able to capture really add a lot to this track," Gibson adds. "The pedal steel on the chorus is some of my favorite work on the record from Noah [Patrick].”
The follow-up to their acclaimed New West debut Fortune Favors the Bold, their upcoming Leavin’ This Holler is slated to arrive Aug. 2. It is set to be another brilliant display from the band, an all-encompassing show of their lyrical skills and musical prowess.
“We wanted to explore every possible sound we could on this record," Gibson offers of the forthcoming release. "No stone left unturned sonically — we got it exactly where we wanted it.”
Fresh off of their headlining trek across Europe early this summer, the band will embark on their Leavin This Holler tour in support of the album. The act will hit the road from June to September, taking on theatres and ballrooms across the U.S.
