49 Winchester have unveiled their brand new album, Leavin’ This Holler, with the much-loved band releasing the lead single from the keenly awaited project, ‘Yearnin’ For You’, today.
Aptly, the surprise announcement coincides with the official ‘49 Winchester Day’ in the band's hometown of Russell County, Virginia, which lands on April 9th each year.
Leavin’ This Holler will arrive on streaming platforms on August 2nd, 2024, and it's safe to say the new track has whetted fans’ appetites ahead of the forthcoming record.
‘Yearnin’ For You’ captures the relatable, bittersweet feeling of chasing down a dream, but missing the loved ones you've left behind, with the band's frontman, Isaac Gibson, explaining how the lively, uptempo track came about, “When I wrote this song, I felt like it really encapsulated what it’s like to be a musician, and more specifically that other side of the coin that fans don't see as often. The people you miss so badly, the sacrifice that it takes to forge out a living”.
Gibson shared the key idea behind ‘Yearnin’ For You’, “I think more importantly it's a love song. It's about reuniting with the one that holds you down, and how great it is to finally be back where you are loved. Absence makes the heart grow fonder”.
In addition to the energising ‘Yearnin’ For You’, Leavin’ This Holler will feature a collaboration with 49 Winchester's fellow Virginia native, Maggie Antone. The fast-emerging artist joins the band on the title-track, and listeners will be eagerly looking forward to seeing the duo team up to perform the song at some point this year.
Leavin’ This Holler was produced by the band, and will be released via New West Records, with the alt-country project due to include eclectic contributions from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Philip Bowen and Cole Chafin.
With 49 Winchester set to perform across the US and Europe over the next few months, attendees will be keeping their fingers crossed that the troubadours treat them to a few tantalising previews of Leavin’ This Holler before the project drops in August.
