The Background:
Hot on the heels of his The Soundtrack To Life tour, Thomas Rhett releases his latest single, ‘Be There In A Minute’ less than a month after his final tour-stop in Nebraska on October 24th, 2026.
The ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout A Woman’ crooner has been teasing this on his socials, showcasing a vintage-style era framed around the Chevy he’s singing about - and driving in the video.
Rhett loves a love song and this one looks to be another ode to his wife, lilting on how he’s still desperate to get home to her.
The Sound:
This is an upbeat number, opening with electric guitars and an infectious beat. As Rhett brings in his vocals, the music strips back slightly, allowing his voice to do the work and making the sentiment around the lyrics more prominent.
The whole beat of the song carries a car flying down the highway. Not too dissimilar to a locomotive beat, 'Be There In A Minute' mirrors the fast face of his chevvy racing to its destination.
The Meaning:
'Be There In A Minute' is Thomas Rhett telling his wife that he's on his way to her as fast as he can. That's it. But it's wrapped up in clever rhymes and romantic sentiments - something Rhett does exceptionally well.
The song opens with Rhett clocking off work, no time to shower and change, he's even ducked out a little early, all because he needs to get home to his girl as quickly as possible.
It's a short distance, 5 miles, but Rhett sticks the pedal to the metal and hauls himself over there in record time. Likening his driving to some form of speed race, he lilts on seeing the chequered flag - his journey is almost over - which means he's almost got her in his arms.
The closer he gets to her, the more his anticipation builds. Tasting her kisses, his roses on the front seat, thinking about what she's wearing, knowing she won't be ready but still being desperate to get here, it all points to a man heavily heavily in love.
Rhett has turned the working man clocking off early and heading home to his woman into a fun, upbeat love song that many of his fans will be able to relate to.

"Called outta work 'bout thirty early
You'll never say it, but, girl, I know you like that
Mud on my boots and my shirt is dirty
But don't you worry, you know I clean up real fast
-
Oh, how could five miles feel so far away?
So far away, yeah
Just a mile more'd be more than this old heart could take, yeah
-
I'm on a freeway, windows and the pedal down
Halfway to heaven, headed to your edge of town
I'll see the checkered flag 'bout any second now
Already taste your kisses, I'll be there in a minute
I got the Chevy flying like it's Top Gun
A dozen "miss you" roses riding shotgun
Put on that dancing dress, I know you got one
Can't wait to see you in it, I'll be there in a minute
-
Yes, I will
-
If I know you, baby, and I know you
Oh, you won't be ready by the time I show up
You know what they say 'bout waiting on a woman
I'd wait forever, just look at you, who wouldn't? No
-
Every red light's just in my way
Even blue lights can't stop me, babe
-
I'm on a freeway, windows and the pedal down
Halfway to heaven, headed to your edge of town
I'll see the checkered flag 'bout any second now
Already taste your kisses, I'll be there in a minute
I got the Chevy flying like it's Top Gun
A dozen "miss you" roses riding shotgun
Put on that dancing dress, I know you got one
Can't wait to see you in it, I'll be there in a minute
-
I'll be there in a minute
-
Ooh, and I bet you've changed ten times since I been on my way, yeah
And I bet you're looking so dang fine, my heart can't take it
-
I'm on a freeway, windows and the pedal down
Halfway to heaven, headed to your edge of town
I'll see the checkered flag 'bout any second now
Already taste your kisses, I'll be there in a minute
I got the Chevy flying like it's Top Gun
A dozen "miss you" roses riding shotgun
Put on that dancing dress, I know you got one
Can't wait to see you in it, I'll be there in a minute
-
(Be there, be there, I'll be there in a minute)
I'll be there in a minute
(Be there, be there, I'll be there in a minute)
I'll be there in a minute"
