Canada's largest country music camping festival, Boots and Hearts, will make its return in 2024 from August 8-11. 

The headlining trio has been confirmed as Jason Aldean, 

 and Brothers Osborne also set to appear. 

Attendees will be keenly looking forward to hearing Thomas Rhett lighting up the Burl's Creek stage with a plethora of chart-topping, high-energy anthems, such as ‘What's Your Country Song’, ‘Sixteen’, ‘Life Changes’ and ‘Slow Down Summer’. 

CoJo is another exciting addition to the star-studded roster of 2024 Boots and Hearts performers, with the traditional-leaning Texan set to serenade ticket-holders with a slew of stand-outs from his new album, 

, including ’The Painter’, ‘Work Boots’ and more.

Since its inception in 2012, Boots and Hearts has become the second largest music festival in North America behind only CMA Fest. The Canadian festical was awarded the CCMA Festival of the Year Award in 2014, 2015 and 2016, as well as the Canadian Music Week Festival of the Year in 2015. Additionally, in 2019 and 2020, Boots and Hearts was nominated for Festival of the Year at the ACM Awards.

In previous years, the festival has played host to hundreds of the genre's finest talent, including Shania Twain, Florida Georgia Line, Dustin Lynch, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Kane Brown, Alan Jackson, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Brad Paisley, Eric Church and plenty of others.

Rodeo-men have taken on an almost mythical status in country music, standing as a touchstone for a simpler, freer way of life. Yet the majority of rodeo songs and Wild West tales have been spun by artists that were cowboys in appearance and nothing more.

That was, of course, until Cody Johnson and his band stampeded onto the scene with his untethered 2019 label debut, 

. It topped both the Billboard Top Country Albums and the All-Genre Digital Sales charts. In actual fact, this was Johnson’s fourth album, having released the previous three on his own label.

It betrays a sense of unbridled determination that Johnson honed in a non-musical arena. Born in Sebastopol, Texas, Johnson started out as a competitive bull rider, living out the harsh realities of a life that had been idealised in so many country hits.

Although his path would ultimately deviate away from the rodeo circuit and into the music industry, Johnson’s albums are pervaded by an underlying determination to bring ‘the cowboy’ back to Nashville. His fans - collectivised as CoJo Nation - celebrate Johnson’s unique authenticity in an industry that has often manipulated the cowboy aesthetic as a marketing device.

In the summer of 2021, Cody Johnson offered fans an all-access pass into his journey so far with the release of his 

 documentary, named after his 2020 Reba McEntire collaboration of the same name.

Later that year, Johnson dropped his acclaimed double album, 

, which captured the energy of the rowdy, high-octane live shows that the Texan has become known for. Two of the stand-out tracks, ‘‘Til You Can’t’ and ‘Human’, showcased Johnson’s ability to fuse down-home humility with a rip-roaring sense of carpe diem. For ‘‘Til You Can’t’, Johnson would go on to win the 2022 CMA Awards for Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

Johnson closes out 2022 with the release of 

, which consolidates his status as a relentless road-warrior. While he might now be riding atop the country music charts instead of a bucking bull, with each release, Johnson makes one thing abundantly clear: on a ‘Cowboy Scale of 1 to 10’, he’s unmatched.

Rhett played music in both junior high and high school. He later chose to study communications at Lipscomb University in Nashville, but the draw of Music City was too much. He eventually dropped out to pursue music full-time. 

Thanks to his songwriting prowess, Rhett landed a publishing deal with Big Machine Label Group. In the early stages of his professional career, he co-wrote singles for Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Lee Brice, among others.  

arrived in 2013, and two years later he followed it up with 

 His sophomore release was nominated for Album of the Year at the ACM Awards. The single 'Die a Happy Man' from the album would go on to win Single of the Year at the ACMS and Song of the Year at the CMAs. 

. The latter marks the first of a double album release.

In 2020, the ACMs named Rhett Entertainer of the Year, and one year later he earned the title Male Artist of the Year.

Before Megan Moroney stormed onto the charts with the infectious, endearing ‘Tennessee Orange’, country football anthems were traditionally associated with the muscled-up, beer-chugging bro-country scene. 

Moroney's sweet tale of a forbidden, star-crossed romance between a Tennessee Volunteers fan and a Georgia Bulldogs supporter went viral in 2022, and in doing so, announced the artist to the world. 

Although the song's success was helped by its muse - a certain country megastar, Morgan Wallen - this shouldn't detract from ‘Tennessee Orange’’s standalone status as a certified earworm with wonderfully intricate and witty songwriting construction. 

The Georgia native's musical journey was kickstarted by the 2021 single, ‘Wonder’, which Moroney penned after being booked to open for Chase Rice during her freshman year at University, and being told she needed at least one original song in her set. 

The following year, she released the six-song 

 EP. The EP showcased Moroney's conversational charm and her ability to find lyrics that speak to the younger generation, but that still feel timeless and unquestionably country. 

‘Hair Salon’ quickly became a fan-favourite, and on February 11, Megan Moroney performed the small-town ballad during her Grand Ole Opry debut, alongside ‘Tennessee Orange’. 

Many have tipped the country prodigy to enjoy a stellar year, with Moroney currently readying her debut album, which will feature both ‘Tennessee Orange’ and her playful, tongue-in-cheek February 2023 single, ‘I'm Not Pretty’. 

Underlining her position at the forefront of contemporary country, Spotify named Megan Moroney as one of their 2023 Country Artists to Watch, while CMT included her in their prestigious Next Women of Country 2023 group. Additionally, Holler featured Megan Moroney as one of its 23 New Artists for 2023.
