Born and raised in Colorado, Kyle developed a deep seeded passion for country music by listening to artists such as Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard from a young age.

Growing up, Kyle’s lifestyle centered around hard work, sports and outdoor recreation, strengthening his ties to the stories and subject matter that are the foundation of country music.

The rise of artists such as Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Zach Bryan and Sturgill Simpson fuelled the fire of obsession surrounding the scene for Kyle, inspiring him to pursue a career in the field.

In addition to his writing contributions to Holler, Kyle hosts Honky Tonk Heroes, a podcast which focuses on covering the independent country scene. Kyle has interviewed artists such as Wyatt Flores, Evan Honer and Jesse Daniel, amongst several others.

Honky Tonk Heroes also has a growing social media presence, placing an emphasis on the value of musicians that have inspired the work of the current artists it covers.

Being in his early 20s, Kyle aspires to develop a lasting career in music journalism and aid in the growth of the independent country scene.
