Daisy Innes

As a current American Studies student, it’s not an infrequent occurrence for Daisy to weave country into a conversation and argue that country music IS a form of American literature. She’ll probably try to prove it to you with some Kris Kristofferson.

When studying abroad at a college in Vermont, being the ‘Brit doing country’ on student radio made her realise just how international country music can be.

There’s not much that’s more important than storytelling, and country tells the stories that everyone can relate to – Daisy’s doing her best to keep telling those stories.

She can usually be found in a second-hand record shop, bringing country music to UK student radio, finding a way to write about Johnny Cash, or drinking a big cup of coffee – and she will be wearing cowboy boots.

With recent contributions to Americana UK and student newspapers in the UK and the US, Daisy’s hoping to stick around in the country music journalism world – from wherever she might be.
