When it comes to Christmas songs, country music has some of the best. At the beginning of every November all the holidays songs start appearing one by one like the first flakes of freshly falling winter snow, until by December we're completely snowed under.
We know how busy this time of year is, but don't worry. Santa's not the only one with little helpers, and we've put all of this year's holiday releases into one easy to use playlist of Best New Country Christmas songs especially for you.
With new ones from Kassi Ashton, Little Big Town, Dasha and a whole EP from Megan Moroney we've got more than enough to soundtrack any of your yuletide gatherings.
Our cover star is everybody's favourite surfing cowgirl Emily Zeck who celebrates the end of a brilliant year with the Coastal Country Christmas EP featuring two new holiday originals alongside a cover of 'Mele Kalikamika.'
"My biggest dream as an artist isn't winning a grammy, or reaching a billion streams, or even securing a #1 radio hit... it's releasing a Christmas project," explained Emily Zeck. "It's gotta be corny, it's gotta be beachy, and it's gotta sound like all the best things about Christmas exploded in your ear holes."
"Growing up, my grandma made Christmas feel like the most magical season in the whole world," she continues. "Now as an adult, I'm realizing that Christmas magic doesn't just appear... you have to create it. I owe my love for the holidays and this little Christmas project to my over-the-top, tacky, lion-hearted grandmother, and I hope she's looking down and listening to these songs with a giant smile on her face."
We're sure she will be. The Coastal Country Christmas EP is a festive smorgasbord of everything that makes country Christmas songs the most delectable holiday songs around.
Mackenzie Carpenter, who recently took to the red carpet at the CMA Awards with us, has a new holiday version of 'Boots On' as she turns her affections to the main man in the red suit this go-around, swapping out those sky blue Luccheses for a festive bright red variety.
Accompanied by the jingliest of bells laid against the track, Mackenzie is pulling out all the stops to win the affection of old St. Nick himself – spiked eggnog, mistletoe and the promise of her wrapped like a present underneath the Christmas tree.

Riley Green has released his original holiday song, 'Christmas to Me,' and Kasey Tyndall adds a unique Country flare to the classic hymn, 'O Come All Ye Faithful.'
“I’ve always wanted to put out a Christmas song over the years and if I was going to do one, it was definitely going to be a hymn,” shared Kasey. “I ended up deciding on an acoustic version of ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ as I wanted to honor Jesus and it’s my favorite on the Christmas program at church. I hope this special cover helps bring the same cheer that I feel to everyone that listens!”
Willow Avalon shares her festive original, 'Save A Little Christmas,' a new holiday song showcasing her charming lyricism.
“For me, Christmas is all about spending time with the people you love," says Avalon. "We’ve all known what it feels like when you can’t be with that one person you really want to be with on Christmas. This is a song about that feeling.”
Carly Pearce won't be alone this Christmas; not in the world of song anyway. She'll be with Michael Bublé for 'Maybe This Christmas,' and recent Holler 10 Artists You Need to Know alumni Belle Frantz covers Merle Haggard's 'If We Make It Through December.'
Hillary Scott of Lady A and her eleven-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye, are ready to bring on the holiday season with their new track 'Hard To Wait For Christmas,' a joyous instant holiday classic. Written by Scott, her husband Chris Tyrrell and Eisele Kaye, the idea for the song was sparked by a family conversation about an advent calendar, and how - even for grownups - it’s hard to wait for Christmas.
“We hope this song makes families smile and encourages them to laugh and have fun together as they wait patiently (or not!) for Christmas,” shares Scott. “My favorite line from the song is about how it feels better to give than to receive, and if we could say anything about the Christmas season, it is that we hope you have a giving heart. That’s what really makes Christmas special – the gift of your time to the people you love, and the gift of your generosity to those in need."
Featuring homemade cookies, behind the scenes clips from the studio recording of the song and their Christmas card photoshoot, including twin sisters Emory and Betsy, and so many heart melting family moments, you'll be a puddle on the floor by the end of it.

Following last year’s festive Wetzel’s Wonderland, genre-defying artist Koe Wetzel returns with Koe Wetzel Presents... Wetzel’s Wonderland Chapter 2.
Building on its predecessor, the album features fresh renditions of holiday staples, including a spoken-word '‘Twas The Night Before Christmas' intro plus 'Run Run Rudolph,' 'Merry Christmas Baby' and 'Silver Bells.'
“I fucking love Christmas,” he declares. “It is always a big deal in the Wetzel household, and we wanted to put our own spin on some more holiday classics for you. Ho Ho Ho from Uncle Koe!”
Chris Janson has released his version of the Country Christmas classic, 'Christmas in Dixie,' as a duet with legendary band, Alabama. Written by Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry and Randy Owen (originally recorded by Alabama in 1982), the track instantly captures the comforting feeling of a cozy winter night spent with loved ones and is the perfect way to start this holiday season.
“I’ve always loved this song, and I’m really proud of the cut," says Janson. "Randy and Teddy really brought it over the finish line. They’re the best, and this will always be one of my favorite records of my life.”
On a more reflective note, veteran country singer and songwriter Jamie Richards’ latest single 'My First Christmas Alone' is a uniquely heartfelt, soulful ballad that flies defiantly in the face of manufactured “Holly Jolly Christmas” joy, reflecting the darker, lonely reality of the season for many people who are going through hard times and personal loss.
It also features in the new film A Christmas Heart, a story about a firefighter and man of deep faith whose wife and son are killed in a texting and driving crash weeks before Christmas. Richards also plays a small role in the movie, which stars director Bill McAdams Jr. and Kevin Sorbo.
“The song is written from the perspective of a man who is spending his first Christmas alone after the tragedy and the sadness and loneliness he’s feeling,” Richards says. “But beyond its potential use in the film, to me it’s something anyone can relate to who is by themselves for the holidays, whether they’re single or divorced or missing their family that’s far away."
If you were expecting joy to the world and good will to all men from Trace Adkins this season then think again. Santa Claus might be arriving in a few weeks, but Adkins knows which list he wants to be on. He's in the mood for some Christmisbehavin' underneath the mistletoe on his raunchy new single, 'Naughty List'.
Trace Adkins might be exactly the sort of guy Jenna Davis is looking for Santa to leave her when he comes down her chimney this Christmas Eve in her new holiday song, 'Dear Santa.'
"iyk me you know I love Christmas so I wrote my first Christmas song asking Santa to bring me a bf (very on brand ik)," she wrote on her socials about the song. "thank u to my favs Shane, Ab, & Nash for willing to be silly with me & yes I will take a hottie on the naughtier side this Christmas."
Annie Bosko has shared a stunning rendition of the classic Christmas carol, 'Silent Night.' It's the world's most recorded Christmas song, with more than 137,000 known recordings, but Bosko somehow manages to make it completely her own.
“Ever since I was a kid, the melody of 'Silent Night' moved me," she explains. "Christmas always felt real when I was in church singing those classic Christmas songs. Particularly this one, because this is the story of the night that Jesus was born. Of all places in the world, because there was no room at the inn, he was born in a manger, in a barn. And we thought it’d be really cool to do the video in that setting, true to the story.”

Santa Claus is coming to (Little Big) Town! Multi-platinum GRAMMY Award-winning four-piece Little Big Town release their first-ever Christmas album with The Christmas Record, produced by Dave Cobb and filled with stunning renditions of country classics and festive originals to keep you dancing through the New Year and beyond.
“Ever since we started as a band, we have dreamed of making a Christmas record. We all love the traditions of the season and treasure the memories with our families,” shares Jimi Westbrook. “For our 25th year together, we finally made that record. We wrote several original songs for the project, and also recorded some of our favorites we've been singing together for years. We're so proud of how it came together and hope the fans love it as much as we do.”
We've got two of those originals - 'Glow' and 'Christmas Night With You' - in our playlist for you today.
Award winning singer songwriter Lauren Housley's new single, 'The Holly and the Ivy' is an upbeat, soulful and emotive performance that will bring joy to the hearts of music lovers. With her powerful vocals and the band's original instrumentation, the spirited arrangement will fit on every Christmas playlist. It is destined to become an annual classic.
The Holly and the Ivy was specially recorded for a Christmas Carols special which will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 and Sounds, but we've got a very special live studio recording for you.
