Some collaborations make so much sense that you wonder why they didn't happen sooner - Michael Jordan and Nike comes to mind, for instance, Post Malone and Bud Light is a match made in Heaven, as is Megan Moroney and Boys Lie.
The latest example of this is Noah Kahan's new link-up with the outdoors-oriented clothing brand, L.L.Bean. Noah's discography - particularly in the last few years - pivots around finding comfort within the cold and at times isolated ambience of New England.
Noah Kahan hails from Vermont - as he proudly bellows on his hit single, ‘Homesick’ - while L.L.Bean has its roots in nearby Maine. The sleek new range of items, which has just dropped as part of the L.L.Bean and Noah Kahan Northern Attitude Collection, captures the spirit of striving for cosiness and protection from the elements.
Included in the new assortment is a stylish Mountain Classic Anorak, featuring a bucolic collaborative ‘L.L.Bean & Noah Kahan’ logo of some reeds, a couple of ducks in flight and - of course - one of Noah's beloved German shepherds lounging in the centre.
There's a handy zip-pouch in the centre, with a trendy, earth-tone-inspired colour palette of cream, slate and brown alongside stark, vibrant orange lacing. It seems like that classic L.L.Bean combination of comfortable and cosy, while still being tough enough to keep you dry in the outdoors, should you find yourself caught in a downpour.
If cosiness is what you're after, there's also a cream L.L.Bean & Noah Kahan Hoodie Sweatshirt, that looks like it's perfect for chilly, candle-lit, pumpkin-spice-scented evenings.
The design is more minimalistic, embodying the mood of simplifying your days and stripping things back to basics as the nights drawn in during the looming ‘Stick Season’. This is arguably the jewel in the crown of the new L.L.Bean & Noah Kahan collection, and will no doubt be a popular option because of its snug feel and its versatility.
Other strong choices in the new range includes the Signature 1933 Chamois Cloth Shirt (Slim Fit), with the Dark Mushroom colouring making this an easy one to pair, as well as Men's and Women's Comfort-Lined Wax Canvas Boots, a classic Boat and Tote bag, a black Beanie, a staple Five-Panel Colorblock Hat and a Boat and Tote Zip Pouch.
The series feels like a seamless mid-point between practicality for those who love recharging in the great outdoors on hikes, trails and bike-rides, as well as epitomising L.L.Bean and Noah Kahan's commitment to being simultaneously on-the-pulse and comforting. What makes this collection all the more appealing is the fact that the collaboration has been built on a foundation of giving back, with L.L.Bean donating $100,000 to Noah Kahan's mental health organisation, Busyhead.
Noah Kahan recently wrapped his hugely popular We'll All Be Here Forever tour, with the ‘Stick Season’ hitmaker dropping a special Live From Fenway Park album to celebrate the expansive run of shows. Noah is now at work on his keenly awaited Stick Season follow-up record, with the Vermont singer-songwriter taking to socials last week to tease another exciting collaboration - this time with Bon Iver.
