After months of speculation and conjecture surrounding the prospect of a Nashville bar created by one of country music's biggest names, Morgan Wallen has confirmed the rumours were, in fact, true. He's opening a new space, ‘This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen’, named after Morgan's much-loved 2019 single, ‘This Bar’.
The bar was originally set to open on Memorial Day Weekend, with the country megastar confirming the exciting news during his tour-stop at Nashville's Nissan Stadium. This Bar is a six-story space, doubling up as a live music venue and a restaurant and bar.
However, it was then delayed, with Saturday, June 1st later being set as the date This Bar will officially open its doors to the public. The postponement was originally thought to be a result of the high-profile clash with Nashville City Council, with some members speaking out against Morgan and blocking the addition of a neon sign to This Bar. A TC Restaurant Group later confirmed, though, that the delay was merely due to final adjustments being made to enhance the bar experience.
Ahead of the official unveiling later in June, Morgan Wallen shared his excitement at the prospect of opening the doors to This Bar, “I sing about finding myself in ‘this bar’ and now it's coming to life. This venue will hold true to everything I love and is inspired by my fans and the way they have embraced me and my music”.
He underlined how, to help keep This Bar as personal as possible, the menu will be curated by Morgan and Chef Tomasz Wosiak, Vice President of Culinary Development for TC Restaurant Group, “We're designing a menu around some of my family favorites, so it brings a piece of East Tennessee to Music City. I hope This Bar is a place you'll want to find yourself in and make memories with your friends and family and celebrate the way country music has brought us all together”.
This Bar will be located in Downtown Nashville's Lower Broadway district, at 107th 4th Ave North, just a stone's throw from the iconic Ryman Auditorium. In addition, it'll house an array of Morgan Wallen memorabilia, photos from his childhood and select performances, along with a plethora of exclusive merchandise, making this a must-see venue for fans of the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker.
Spanning roughly 30,000 square feet and consisting of a staggering three live music stages, six sizeable bars and a fashionable open-air rooftop, This Bar is shaping up to become one of the most sought-after spots in Nashville, especially given the fact that it's been dreamed up by the most popular artist in the genre today.
Fans will be hoping the Sneedville singer-songwriter delivers a special set at This Bar to celebrate its opening. If he does, it's safe to say he'll have plenty of stages to choose from.
