The sleepy, rural idyll of Suffolk, UK may not have too much in common with the Wrangler-wearing, ranch-running heat of Texas - but it seems the two worlds are set to collide on Thursday, May 11.

One of Britain's most decorated popstars, Ed Sheeran, will make his debut at the 2023 ACM Awards in Frisco, Texas. The ‘Shape Of You’ hitmaker recently released his hotly anticipated new album, Subtract, and is currently in the middle of his blockbuster Mathematics world tour.

Although it's yet to be confirmed which song he'll be performing at the ACMs, given the fact that it is being billed as a special, one-off performance, fans will be hoping Ed might well treat them to a medley of his greatest hits, along with one or two new tracks added into the mix.

Although Ed Sheeran's multi-award-winning sound has generally trodden the territory belonging to folk, pop and occasionally rap, the songwriting dexterity he's become known for has led to a number of country artists turning to Ed's illustrious pen for inspiration.

Songs Ed Sheeran has written for others include ‘Tip Of My Tongue’ by Kenny Chesney and ‘love and hate’ by Kelsea Ballerini, along with ‘Stay The Night’ for his fellow UK act, The Shires.

Ed Sheeran is also good buddies with country chart-toper, Luke Combs, with Ed having previously spoken about their friendship during a handful of interviews, as well as making a surprise appearance during Luke's headlining 2022 C2C Festival performance in London.

On May 11 at the 2023 ACM Awards, Ed Sheeran will be joined on the roster of performers by Luke, along with an array of big-name acts from across country music, including Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, HARDY, Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert and more.
