Zach Top has dropped a major hint via Instagram that he has something exciting on the horizon, with fans speculating that this could either mean new music or a major tour.
Via his Instagram Stories, Top has revealed, “We've got big news to share this week. Hit the link so you don't miss it!”, with the link directing fans to sign-up to his official mailing list.
Crucially, this “big news” teaser arrived on his Stories at almost exactly the same time the Washington native uploaded a snippet of a new unreleased song to his Instagram feed.
The track, which appears to be called “He Said She Said”, is a clever play on the titular phrase, with Top recalling a romantic encounter in a bar where someone else acts as a go-between while he plucks up courage to talk to a woman. When his friend returns from talking to her, he hangs on every word that “he said she said”.
After hinting during a GRAMMYs red carpet interview that he'd been writing in Nashville, the neo-traditional trailblazer confirmed in a February 2026 chat with Holler that he's been working on new music since dropping Ain't In It For My Health last summer.
Top explained, “I'm always writing, just stacking up stuff. I like to do it that way - just write songs as they come to me and not sit down and feel like I gotta write the next record, like it's an assignment. Keep stacking up songs as we go when there's time to do it. Then, when it comes time that it's like, ‘Alright, let's put together a record’, you can go back and listen through all the stuff you've stacked up and decide what fits where. And if you're still missing something, you can try and write that last missing piece. Yeah, that's kind of the mode we're in now”.
However, he did qualify this by underlining that the priority is still to promote his sophomore album, Ain't In It For My Health, with Top suggesting he probably wouldn't turn his attention to the follow-up record until next year, “We're still very focused on Ain't In It For My Health, and well, I feel like we've barely started touring that new music, you know? So people really haven't had hardly any time to live with it compared to the first record, which came out in April 2024. We're coming up on two years now. So, yeah, we'll wear that new record out this whole year, I imagine, and then turn our focus to a new one sometime in 2027”.
The only other indication we've had from Top that he's creating new material is when, in a hilarious video bemoaning a terrible round of golf he'd played earlier that day, he joked that he was “trying to write a song that could encapsulate the level of sorrow that I feel”. It then dawned on him that ‘Between the Ditches’ - one of the stand-outs from Ain't In It For My Health - already summed it up pretty perfectly.
Even though Top has implied he won't be dropping any new music in 2026, it feels like the timing of his “big news” teaser and the new ‘He Said She Said’ snippet dropping can't be a mere coincidence. We're wondering if Top is readying a deluxe version of Ain't In It For My Health, to help give the original project an extra boost.
There are a couple of months left before the CMA Awards 2026 eligibility window closes in June. Top will surely be eyeing up an Album of the Year nod, and a little additional hype courtesy of a deluxe could be handy in persuading the CMA voters.
Interestingly, Kimes Ranch Jeans also joined in on the teasing, sharing a picture of Top with the caption “Zach Top x Kimes Ranch...Something's Coming...” This could indicate that Kimes will be one of the lead sponsors on the ‘Use Me’ crooner's 2026 tour. Equally, Kimes is a longtime partner of Top's, and this could simply be a hint that a new collaboration is dropping - but the timing definitely feels pointed.
While we think new music is definitely on the cards here, we suspect the likeliest reason behind Top's “big news” post, however, is that he's gearing up to announce a tour.
Top has a smattering of shows lined up this year, but they're all either festival appearances or supporting slots on Chris Stapleton's All-American Road Show tour. Given he made a point of saying to Holler in February that he's keen to tour Ain't In It For My Health throughout the year, we'd be very surprised if Top doesn't add a headlining summer run - and perhaps this is the announcement he's teasing.
The decision to point fans towards his mailing list adds strength to this suspicion, with fans presumably needing to sign up in order to gain access to a 2026 tour pre-sale.
We're hoping that we'll get two treats for the price of one, and that if a 2026 tour announcement from Top is imminent, he'll accompany this with news of a deluxe version of Ain't It It For My Health. Either way, we'll know more before the week is out...
