Zach Bryan's Twitter feed is usually ablaze with wistful lyrics, Rich O'Toole jokes and the incessant posting of the phrase “go birds”.
But in recent weeks, his social media presence has blown hot and cold, as he took time away from the noise surrounding his 2023 tour announcements.
However, Bryan is now online once again, and he's thankfully back to teasing new song snippets.
The latest is a forlorn, heartbroken ballad, which finds the Oklahoma native crooning, “You’re beholden to no holders boy / I heard breathing in this world is the thief of joy”.
Fans are hoping the newly shared track will feature on Zach Bryan's follow-up to 2022's widely acclaimed American Heartbreak, which spawned hits such as the chart-topping ‘Something in the Orange’.
Bryan's new song teaser is the latest in a long line of snippets and demos that he's shared across his socials, such as ‘177 Chrystie’, ‘Tourniquet’, ‘Dallas’ and more.
The upcoming record, which will be called ‘Writers and Fighters’, was originally lined up for a February release, but Zach Bryan later confirmed that the project had been delayed.
We're still waiting on a new release date, but some suspect it could drop before the prolific singer-songwriter embarks on his world tour on May 10, which will take him across the US, Canada, the UK and Europe.
