On Friday (April 26), tornadoes devastated parts of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, and Zach Bryan, who is currently crossing the Midwest on his The Quittin Time Tour, didn't hesitate to lend a helping hand.
In between his two-night stint in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday and Friday nights and another in Omaha, Nebraska, set for Monday (April 29) and Tuesday (April 30), the sensation was spotted assisting the Omaha-area community of Elkhorn with cleaning up the destruction left behind by the severe storms.
In a resident-captured video, the star can be seen trudging across the wreckage of one home while other footage sees him carrying salvageable items out of the disarray.
As an Oklahoma native, Bryan is likely no stranger to the devastation tornadoes often bring with them, but the major Nebraska city is also close to the singer-songwriter's heart.
"As an American and someone who lived in Omaha for some pretty formidable years of my life, I want to offer some honest prayers and hopes to the communities affected by the tornadoes that tore through them," the artist took to social media to share a few words, captioning a lone picture of the storms' aftermath on his Instagram.
"The band and I are standing with you guys as we are playing some shows in Omaha," he continued. "I am so sorry to anyone that is having to deal with picking up the pieces of their homes and their lives. Without taking credit from the thousands of people lending a hand who have roots here, we love you so much and we’ll do all we can to help."
Bryan will perform for two nights at Omaha's CHI Health Center Arena beginning Monday (April 29) before jetting off to St. Louis, Missouri.
