During a double-header at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Zach Bryan welcomed Noeline Hofmann to the stage.
The Alberta-bred singer-songwriter is the pen behind the star's beloved 'Purple Gas' and the haunting voice that appears alongside Bryan's on The Great American Bar Scene track.
The Sunday night (Nov. 17) of the arena showcase, the two gave a bewitching performance of the barren country opus, gifting the show's lucky attendees with a live debut of the duet. Then, they did it once again the next night.
The Sunday-Monday performances both saw 'Purple Gas' come smack dab in the middle of the hitmaker's 30-song set, with Hofmann making an appearance about an hour into the headline display. Together, armed only with acoustic guitars and emotionally tattered croons, the collaborators gave a 'Purple Gas' performance worthy of an arena spotlight.
The Sunday night showcase came to a close with Bryan's usual encore performance of 'Revival'. He brought out Hofmann once again to cap the first of the Rogers Place gigs in style. The stomping anthem was uplifted by the young Albertan's spirited lilt, a voice that captivated Bryan mere months ago and led to such a singular partnership.

Bryan first featured Hofmann and her 'Purple Gas' on his Belting Bronco YouTube series after having heard the tune online. He immediately fell for the song, explaining to fans later on: "This song brought me to tears the first time I heard it so it was really important for me that Noeline gave me the privilege to sing it with her," he wrote. "I have never covered another musician on an album and it’s because I was waiting on someone to write a song like this."
Of the fast-rising newcomer, he shared, "Noeline resonates like Gillian Welch to me and Gillian is one of my favorite musicians to ever live; now Noeline is too".
