After dropping his brand new song, ’Madeline’, with an unexpected feature from Gabriella Rose, Zach Bryan has treated us to another surprise by revealing he'll be releasing his long-teased With Heaven On Top project early next year on January 9th.

Previously, Bryan had suggested With Heaven On Top was going to be an EP, with Motobreath assumed to be the name of his next full-length album, after the Oklahoma native shared a Matthew McConaughey-voiced introduction to a documentary about the creation of the record. That documentary was set to be called Motorbreath.

Now, though, given the fact that Zach Bryan is waiting until January 9th - around six months - to release With Heaven On Top, it feels like this might be the full studio album.

Bryan has confirmed the release date in a social media post, with the ‘Dawns’ crooner sharing what looks to be the project's artwork, alongside a caption reading, “January 9th!!!!”

The cover features Zach Bryan kneeling in a forrest alongside his beloved dog, Jack. The font for With Heaven On Top seems to be very similar to that use for the ‘Madeline’ single artwork, and given the fact that Bryan has announced the January record on the same day he dropped ‘Madeline’, it seems this track will appear on the project.

It comes shortly after Zach Bryan and Brianna LaPaglia reignited their feud across social media, with the former couple trading blows in a series of social media posts.

While fans are undoubtedly excited now that With Heaven On Top has a release date, there remain a plethora of questions - in particular, the status of his Motorbreath project. What's more, announcing the release date roughly six months in advance feels very un-Zach Bryan, who tends to prefer sudden, on-the-day drops.

In February, Bryan shared that With Heaven On Top would be “coming soon”, with his November 2024 singles, ‘This World's A Giant’ and ‘High Road’ initially expected to feature.

January 9th certainly doesn't feel all that “soon”, so we're wondering if he's changed his rollout plan, with those two singles possibly no longer a part of this chapter in Zach Bryan's discography. We have already heard the title-track, though, which Bryan teased last year and features vocals from New York prodigy, Grumpy.
