Well, it's a good year to be a Zac Brown Band fan.

Along with a rumoured Sphere Las Vegas residency being on the horizon, the much-loved nine-piece will release their keenly awaited new album, Love & Fear, on December 5th.

The project will feature the recently shared lead single, the irresistibly breezy ‘I Ain't Worried About It’, along with collaborations with Dolly Parton, Snoop Dogg and Marcus King.

It comes after a mysterious countdown clock appeared on the Zac Brown Band website. This is due to run out at around 11am London time (5am Nashville time). Initially, we thought this could be the album announcement, but with this being unveiled today, it now looks like the clock could be counting down to the Sphere announcement.

It serves as the Georgia trailblazers’ eighth studio album, and their first full-length record since 2021's lauded project, The Comeback, which was given a deluxe revamp in 2022.

Although we'll have to hold on until December before getting to enjoy Love & Fear in full, Zac Brown Band will be tiding us over by dropping ‘Let It Run’ with Snoop Dogg this Friday (July 18th). The band have shared the official artwork, which features Zac and Snoop - the latter with his ever-present blunt between his lips - riding on horses. Although not confirmed, it seems this has been created using AI, due to Zac's hand bizarrely having six fingers, instead of five. Fans have been speculating the ’I Ain't Worried About It’ cover was also made with the help of AI.

The artwork for Love & Fear, by contrast, is much more intricate and striking, with the album cover portraying two ethereal, otherworldly creatures battling in the heavens. Judging by the title, it seems these are stark representations of ‘love’ and ‘fear’.

It is frequently theorised that these are human beings’ two primary motivations in life, and if we know Zac Brown Band like we think we know Zac Brown Band, we feel pretty confident they'll be concluding that love is a far better guiding light than fear.

The band have accompanied the momentous news with the caption, “Two sides of the same truth”, perhaps suggesting that you can view every situation through the lens of either love or fear, and this will colour how you perceive and respond to it.

We're incredibly excited to see that the ‘Chicken Fried’ hitmakers are back with new music, with an array of never-heard-before tracks set to appear on the 13-song album.

We are, however, a little sad to see that none of the songs from Zac Brown Band's 2024 No Wake Zone EP have made the cut, with this project exploring a wonderfully beachside, island-inspired ambience, epitomised by ‘Tie Up’, ‘Two Blue Chairs & You’ and the moving Jimmy Buffett tribute, ‘Poets & Parrots’, with Mac McAnally. We're sure, though, that Zac Brown Band will find room on Love & Fear to dip their toes back into the sand, with the importance of kicking back and soaking up the sun having been a refreshingly recurrent theme across all their albums to date.
