Kaitlin Butts might have become synonymous with her hilariously playful and immensely viral break-up anthem, ‘You Ain't Gotta Die (To Be Dead To Me)’, but in reality - just like Terry from Brooklyn 99 - there's no question the Oklahoma native loves love.

Exemplifying this was the way in which Butts helped two of her best friends, Sophia Wells and Adam Duran, by facilitating a heartwarming engagement during her recent show.

Wells is Butts’ tour manager, with the ‘Here Today’ crooner regaling attendees with the endearing story of how they first met, after inviting her friend out to help her with a feigned wardrobe malfunction, “Welcome to the stage Sophia Wells, everybody, this is my tour manager. This is actually...I'm kinda glad this is happening. We actually met here in Oklahoma City about 13 years ago. This is my college roommate from Oklahoma City. We went to college here. Say, ‘Hello Sophia!’”

Kaitlin Butts went on, “Two years ago today - or this month, I guess - this beautiful woman...”, with Wells then starting to walk off, before Butts pulled her back, “This is a special moment for me...This beautiful woman DM-ed me on Instagram....She was kinda drunk, and she said, ‘Hey your guitar player's really cute and really hot, or am I just drunk? Do you need a background singer?’ And I said, ‘No, but I need a tour manager’. And she's been working for me for the last two years, and I'm just honoured to have her...and I think she just turn around right now, too”.

As a puzzled Sophia Wells glanced over her shoulder to see what Kaitlin Butts was referring to, she saw Adam Duran on one knee, holding up a ring. As Wells held her face in her hands and nodded excitedly, the crowd greeted them with a sea of cheers.

Alongside a sweet video capturing the on-stage engagement, Kaitlin Butts fondly quipped, “10/10 recommend helping your best friends get engaged in front of 5,000 people”. In her own Instagram post toasting the moment, Sophia Wells paid tribute to her fiancé, Adam Duran, “Forever the Johnny to my June...Got engaged in front of 5,000 people this week and I don’t know if I will ever fully recover. On tour we joke that “the road giveth & the road taketh”…….well the road has officially given me the greatest gift of my life. A thousand times yes, my love. I’ll continue to tell more of our story soon, but for now I’ll just leave this here”.

What makes this even more wholesome is the fact that Duran is the guitarist that Wells first DM-ed Butts about, with the latter remarking how it all started with one message.

Kaitlin Butts is currently in the middle of her expansive North America tour, with shows lined up in Minnesota, Kansas, Arizona, New Mexico and more throughout August.
