Tyler Childers has joined forces with prolific super-producer, Rick Rubin, for his next album, with the ‘In Your Love’ singer-songwriter's keenly awaited new record on the horizon.

In an interview with Hits Daily Double, Peter Edge, the Chairman and CEO of RCA Records, has shared some tantalising details about Childers’ Rustin’ in the Rain’ follow-up album.

In response to a question asking, ‘What else do you have coming out in the next few months?’, Edge replies, “I’m really excited about Tyler Childers' new album, which is produced by Rick Rubin. He defies expectations, and this new album goes even further”.

He then goes on to gush, “The great thing about Tyler is that he does it the way he wants to do it. He's playing giant venues, and he's making the music he wants to make”.

Excitingly, the fact that Edge referenced Tyler Childers’ forthcoming album when answering a question about projects that will be released “in the next few months”, this seemingly implies that the alt-country trailblazer's new era will be upon us soon.

Rick Rubin has an unrivalled resume of production credits, with the iconic producer having taken the helm for groundbreaking projects such as Jay-Z's 99 Problems, Adele's 21, Kanye West's Yeezus, Eminem's Revival, Lady Gaga's Artpop, Travis Scott's Utopia, an array of Johnny Cash's later albums and much more.

Rick Rubin has become revered for his minimalist production style, with the New York native building a mythologised reputation for being a “reducer”, rather than a producer, with Rubin stripping away unnecessary elements to hone a project. Famously, Rubin claims to not have a technical musical background or the ability to play any instruments, adding to the mystique surrounding him.

Particularly with Rick Rubin involved, we can't wait to hear what Tyler Childers has been cooking up in the studio. This marks the first time they have worked together, with Childers teaming up with Sturgill Simpson, David Ferguson and Jesse Wells for his earlier projects, before taking over the production himself for his two most recent records, Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? and Rustin’ in the Rain.
