They're joined on the impressive line-up by Steep Canyon Rangers, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Shinyribs, Peter Rowan, Scythian, Donna the Buffalo, Jim Lauderdale, Willi Carlisle and more.
Also confirmed for the much-loved Wilkesboro festival is The Earls of Leicester, Kruger Brothers, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Chatham County Line, Chatham Rabbits, John McEuen, Adeem the Artist, The Sensational Barnes Brothers and The Waybacks.
Since its inception in 1988, MerleFest 2024 has established itself as one of the most popular festivals in the region, with the alt-country and Americana extravaganza being set up by singer-songwriter, Doc Watson. The festival was founded in honour of his son, Eddy Merle Watson, who tragically died at 36 in a tractor accident.
In 2023, MerleFest celebrated what would've been Doc Watson's 100th birthday, with stellar performances from the likes of Maren Morris, Tanya Tucker, Marcus King, The Avett Brothers, Lori McKenna, Little Feat, Jim Lauderdale and Donna the Buffalo.
Over the past few years, the MerleFest stage has been graced by a plethora of leading figures in the alt-country, Americana and mainstream country space, including Margo Price, Emmylou Harris, 49 Winchester, LeAnn Rimes, Willie Nelson & Family, Billy Strings, John Prine, Tommy Prine, Charley Crockett and more.
