As fans patiently wait for his long-teased Live from Red Rocks project, HARDY has taken to socials to share a heartfelt story about his grandfather, who passed away a year ago.
The ‘ROCKSTAR’ singer-songwriter has always been an avid hunter, but HARDY has offered fans an insight into why the latest deer he caught holds a special meaning for him, as well as teasing a new unreleased song that's set to appear on his new album.
Alongside photos of the deer and his grandma, HARDY explained, “I’ve got a song on my next record called Buck On The Wall that perfectly describes this deer and the story behind it. Some of you know, but my grandfather passed away a year ago”.
The country-rock titan expanded, “In 1989 he built our family a little cabin which we have used as our deer camp for the last 35 years, where there are 30-40 bucks mounted on the wall. This fall/winter season is the first one he hasn’t been a part of, and I wish so bad he could’ve seen this deer, but I’m damn proud to keep our family tradition alive and keep putting bucks on the walls that he built. So this one’s for him. Slide 2 is my grandmother, his wife. Love you Pop”.
HARDY's post adds a sweet, heartwarming touch to his hunting exploits this year, contrasting with the rowdy and perhaps more aggressive tone of some of his previous deer photos.
Regardless, the ‘ONE BEER’ hitmaker has proven once again he “ain't afraid to throw a dead buck on my Instagram”, as he proudly claims on the riotous ‘SOLD OUT’.
As well as hinting that he's hard at work on his follow-up to 2024's rock album, Quit!!, HARDY may have dropped a hint that his forthcoming project will see the trailblazing songsmith returning to his country roots. The name ‘Buck On The Wall’ certainly feels more like the kind of song-title we'd see on HARDY's earlier country material.
While we commend HARDY's innovation in his rock pursuits, we nonetheless would love to hear another project in the mould of A ROCK or HIXTAPE, Vol. 1, with the Mississippi native getting a chance to show off his unrivalled country songwriting skills again. HARDY remains a key figure in the Nashville scene, and continues to pen smashes for the likes of Morgan Wallen, Kenny Chesney, Kane Brown and more.
In addition, HARDY has provided followers with a new snippet from his forthcoming Live From Red Rocks project, which was recorded during his October 2024 double-header at the iconic Colorado venue. We're yet to be given an official release date for HARDY's debut live album, but it seems the rollout is accelerating.
The ‘wait in the truck’ chart-topper has uploaded a clip of ‘JIM BOB (Live from Red Rocks)’ to his socials, with the caption, “Did someone say something about a Live From Red Rocks album?” Thankfully, it's clear HARDY hasn't reneged on his promise to drop the project in “early 2025”, with an official announcement expected soon - and hopefully, we'll get news of his next studio album shortly after.
