The Shires and Lauren Alaina have released the video for their new single ‘Lightning Strikes’. The song, which features on The Shires' most recent record Good Years was penned by Cam, Josh Williams and Evan Bogart.

The duo, who are the UK’s best-selling country act of all time, joined with country-pop powerhouse Lauren Alaina for this version of the song.

The video, which premiered on CMT, is an ambient studio performance of the track; the positivity of the lyrics reflected in the smiles on the trio’s faces.

The harmonies that The Shires are famed for are only more spellbinding with the addition of Alaina’s vocals.

Good Years is the fourth album from The Shires. They recorded the 12 track record in Nashville and it features a multitude of prolific songwriters, including Bob DiPiero and Canaan Smith.

Back in 2017, The Shires became the first UK country act to win a CMA Award, accepting the Jeff Walker Global Artist Award, which celebrates outstanding achievements by a country act outside of the US.
