Sturgill Simpson has - in true Sturgill fashion - leaked the entirety of his mysterious new Johnny Blue Skies project, Mutiny After Midnight, via YouTube nearly two weeks early.

Sturgill officially unveiled the project last month, explaining that Mutiny After Midnight would be a dance-leaning project and a departure from his usual alt-country sound.

Taking to the Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds Instagram page, Sturgill revealed, “Ooops...mighta just posted the whole f*** album on YouTube...for the real ones”.

The project has been made available to stream as one long video on YouTube, with each song playing straight into the next. It's not the ideal way to consume new music, but it's a welcome surprise for fans that were initially told it was a physical-only release.

Mutiny After Midnight features nine brand new tracks from Sturgill's collective, including ‘Make America F** Again’, ‘Viridescent’, ‘Everyone Is Welcome’ and ‘Excited Delirium’.

The record was originally slated to drop on March 13th, 2026, and marks Sturgill's second project under the ‘Johnny Blue Skies’ moniker, after 2024's Passage Du Desir.
