Sam Hunt has notched his first ever UK Country Radio Airplay No. 1, with his infectious single, ‘Outskirts’, surging to the top spot on this week's chart, dated April 19-15.
Although ‘Outskirts’ was released back in July 2023, the reflective, beat-driven track has become a fan-favourite, and ultimately inspired Hunt's 2024 tour of the same name.
It captures the R&B-country fusion the ‘Body Like A Back Road’ singer-songwriter has become synonymous with since his game-changing 2014 project, Montevallo.
The wistful, slow-burning anthem racked up 110 total plays and 684,829 audience impressions, beating out Lainey Wilson's ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’, which slots in at No. 1 on 652,248. Lainey's Bell Bottom Country stand-out will be one of the favourites to hit the pinnacle of the chart next week, especially given the excitement surrounding her recent sold-out tour-stops across the UK.
At No. 3 on this week's chart is Chris Young's playful single, ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’, which appears on the Tennessee crooner's celebrated 2024 album of the same name.
Completing the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart Top 5 this week is Ashley Cooke's much-loved track, ‘your place’, which is followed by ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’, the viral lead single from Beyoncé's widely acclaimed debut country album, COWBOY CARTER.
Last week's No. 1, Dasha's ‘Austin’, drops to No. 8, while the biggest mover during this frame is Brett Young's ‘Dance With You’, which picked up a staggering 2099% boost in impressions to bring his weekly tally to 190,655, taking him to No. 47.
