Sabrina Carpenter treated her sold-out Bridgestone Arena crowd in Nashville to a special cover of the unofficial Queen of Country Music, delivering a stunning take on Dolly Parton's ‘9 to 5’.
Carpenter's decision to perform the iconic anthem was met with a chorus of screams from the Music City audience, with the ‘Espresso’ hitmaker showcasing her sinuous, enchanting vocals as she navigated the opening verse and energising hook.
Sabrina Carpenter has shown love to the genre throughout her career, with one of the many highlights from her 2024 album, Short n’ Sweet, ‘Slim Pickins’, exploring a decidedly country feel. We're hoping it's not too long before Carpenter follows the likes of Beyoncé and Post Malone by dropping a full-length country record.
Earlier in the year, Carpenter brought Kacey Musgraves out for a spellbinding duet of Nancy Sinatra's ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ during her momentous Outside Lands set.
Elsewhere during the Pennsylvania singer-songwriter's Bridgestone Arena performance, she reeled off an array of stand-outs from Short n’ Sweet, such as ’Please Please Please’, ‘Bed Chem’ and ‘Juno’, the latter of which featured a new country-themed position.
Sabrina Carpenter's hit-filled show was pervaded by the global phenom's trademark playfulness and charisma, with the performance coloured by a host of innovative staging choices, an array of fun outfit changes and a range of faultlessly delivered earworms.
Following her Nashville, Tennessee set, Sabrina Carpenter's Short n’ Sweet Tour rolls on to Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida and Texas throughout the rest of October.
