After eagle-eyed fans thought they'd spotted Riley Green during the official teaser trailer for Marshals, the TV show's creator's have officially confirmed the ’Worst Way’ hitmaker will be making his acting debut in Taylor Sheridan's new Yellowstone spin-off.
The neo-Western show, which serves as a continuation of Kayce Dutton's story from the original Yellowstone series, premieres on Sunday, March 1st on CBS. New episodes will then air on Sundays via CBS, before being made available to stream on Paramount+.
Via an official statement, Green has underlined how enjoyable he found his first acting gig, “I’m so excited to be joining the cast of Marshals. Being on set with my buddy Luke Grimes made the experience even more memorable. This is my first go around in the acting space and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this world.”
Green hinted previously that he'd been filming something with a friend of his. The Alabama native portrays Navy SEAL Garrett, who links up with Kayce after a tragedy impacts the family. This is widely expected to be the death of Kayce's wife, Monica, with the actor that played her in Yellowstone, Kelsey Asbille, not returning.
Brecken Merrill will be returning at Kayce's son, Tate, with Mo Brings Plenty (himself) and Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater) also coming back for the eagerly awaited series.
A host of new characters will be appearing as Kayce's new US Marshals buddies, Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means).
Along from Marshals, Sheridan continues to expand the Yellowstone universe in other directions, with The Madison - following a new family in Montana - due to premiere on March 14th, while Dutton Ranch, which is yet to be given an official air date, will see beloved characters Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) reuniting.
