Riley Green is back on Instagram doing what he does best–serenading fans straight from what looks to be his living room, acoustic guitar in hand, and maybe a bit of reflective heartbreak on his sleeve.

In a new video posted Wednesday (July 16), Green offers up a stripped-back sneak peek at an unreleased track titled in his caption 'Got That From You.'

Sitting casually in a backwards snapback with his usual mustache, Green plays through a verse and chorus that feel equal parts confessional and classic. With his signature gravelly delivery, he rattles off personal scars, regrets and habits he’s picked up along the way, from Cancun tattoos to dented Chevys and whiskey-laced Coca-Cola.

"This here broken heart I keep pearl snap hittin’ / This Coca-Cola I keep pouring whiskey in / This barstool goodbye, bad dream come true / The shade of gray sky blue / Girl, I got that from you."

The lyrics feels lived-in and unapologetic, both things that seem to define Green’s catalog. He even nods to his dad’s influence in a later line, singing: “Copenhagen in my lip, picked up from my old man / Ain’t the only habit he gave me, still drinkin’ beer in a can.”

There’s no word when or it the song will see an official release, but for now, fans are left hitting replay and wondering what project Riley Green might be thinking up next.
