During his packed-out show at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, Australia, Riley Green was struck on the neck by a phone. The fan responsible was immediately removed.
Green was startled at first, as blood startled to trickle down his right side, before calmly stepping back up to the microphone and making it clear this kind of behaviour is unacceptable.
As a member of his team arrived to help stem the blood-flow and clean him up, the ‘Different ‘Round Here’ hitmaker kept things light, joking, “Am I bleeding? Y'all see how tough I am?”
In truth, though, it's the latest troubling instance in a string of incidents involving fans throwing objects at artists on-stage, with the likes of Bebe Rexha, Harry Styles, Kelsea Ballerini and more all being hit. Rexha even required stitches in her eyebrow after she too was hit in the face by a flying phone back in 2023.
Green is in the middle of his As Cowboy As It Gets Australia and New Zealand tour, with the Alabama native set to headline Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on March 16th and 17th.
Then, he takes the stage at Australia's popular CMC Rocks 2026. The momentum remains high behind Green, with the ‘Worst Way’ chart-topper linking up with fellow New Harbor Records (formerly Big Machine) signee, Carly Pearce, for the romantic duet, ‘If I Don't Leave I'm Gonna Stay’, on Friday (March 13th 2026).
