Master of Ceremonies and master of the mic – Reba McEntire proved she could be both during the 59th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
The Thursday night (May 16) event saw the longtime hitmaker, and now 17-time ACM host, charm the awards ceremony crowd with her wit and sincerity, cracking jokes and calling the shots.
But she also stunned the room with an enrapturing performance of her latest single, 'I Can't.' Backed by a gospel choir, who provided haunting harmonies to the legend's chilling offering, McEntire was a powerhouse. She was awe-inspiring, awash in sequins, as she effortlessly belted out the goosebump-inducing tune.
Followed by a quick "thank you" and "good night," McEntire closed the event, receiving a well-deserved standing ovation in return.
With McEntire in the lead, the ACMs lived up to their name as the biggest party in country music, the evening hosting irresistible performances from the likes of Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson and more.
