Post Malone Teases New Father's Day Song About His Daughter, ‘She Ain't Yours’

On Father's Day, Post Malone surprised fans with a new song snippet inspired by his daughter, seemingly titled ‘She Ain't Yours’, with Posty looking ahead to the day she gets married and reminding her future husband she'll always be his world.

It's a sweet, soul-baring offering that serves as the most marked departure from Post Malone's trademark sound yet, with the ’Chemical’ hitmaker crooning wistfully about the bittersweet feelings he'll experience when walking his daughter down the aisle.

Although Posty has dived headfirst into the country music world with tracks such as ‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan Wallen, ‘Pour Me a Drink’ with Blake Shelton and the steel-drenched ‘Never Love You Again’, ‘She Ain't Yours’ is the first time he's really explored the heart-on-his-sleeve vulnerability and evocative introspection that country has become synonymous with over the years. With Post Malone having made his name with ferocious, hedonistic trap-leaning anthems such as ‘rockstar’, ‘psycho’ and ‘Wow.’, ‘She Ain't Yours’ consolidates the Diamond-certified megastar's emphatic shift in 2024 away from Hip Hop and Rap.

The brief clip opens with Post Malone wondering what his daughter's wedding day will be like, before thinking nostalgically back to when she was younger, “When I walk her down that aisle and do what daddies have to do / And she might be wearing white, but her first dress, it was pink”. It's made all the more moving by the fact that Posty's daughter is still only a toddler, with the genre-blending maverick happily announcing to the world that she'd been born back in 2022.

Posty famously keeps his family life very private, with the identity of his partner and daughter still under wraps, accentuating how striking this reflection on his role as a father really is.

We're yet to get a release date for ‘She Ain't Yours’, which features credits from Posty, Ashley Gorley, ERNEST, Charlie Handsome and Taylor Phillips, but thankfully, the rollout for Post Malone's hotly anticipated debut country album is picking up pace.

After a stunning live debut at CMA Fest, Post Malone confirmed his duet with Blake Shelton, ’Pour Me a Drink’, would be dropping this Friday (June 21), and we're keeping our fingers crossed he decides to release ‘She Ain't Yours’ before too long.
