After a relatively quiet 2025 in terms of dropping new music, Post Malone has revealed he is working on not one but two albums, with both being lined up for a 2026 release.
Post has spent the vast majority of the past year out on the road alongside his good friend and ‘Losers’ collaborator, Jelly Roll, as part of their blockbuster Big Ass Stadium Tour. It took them across North America, as well as featuring an array of dates further afield in France, Germany, Portugal, the UK, Spain, Portugal and more.
This meant swathes of fans were able to enjoy electrifying live performances of stand-outs from Posty's first ever country album, F-1Trillion, which arrived in the summer of 2024.
However, with Post also working on his debut fashion line, Austin Post Apparel, it also meant there wasn't much time left for new music, with the genre-blurring maverick only sharing a couple of collaborations with BigXthaPlug and DJ Khaled.
Now, however, Post has seemingly confirmed via a mammoth five-hour Twitch live stream that he will be making up for this musical dry spell by dropping two albums in 2026.
Partway through the lengthy stream, during which Post plays Hunt the Game with his friends, the ‘I Had Some Help’ chart-topper hints, “Chances are, chat, we are getting two albums in 2026”, before teasingly adding, “If everything goes my way”.
It's not yet clear what format these projects will be. Post is firmly entrenched in the country world, and it doesn't look like he plans to return to the Hip Hop scene any time soon, with his Austin Post Apparel line consolidating the idea that his shift towards a Nashville-inspired aesthetic is a long-term move, rather than a fleeting fancy.
Even so, Post has always has a penchant for bending the boundary-lines between genres, so perhaps he is satisfying this creative impulse by recording one traditional country album, and a second project that features a cornucopia of styles and sounds.
Alternatively, we suspect he might be working on one solo album and one joint project. Jelly Roll revealed earlier in the year that they've been working on more duets, after the success of ‘Losers’, so it's possible they've got a collaborative album en route.
Given how much time they've been spending together on the road and the ease with with their styles combine - and the fact that they are reportedly resuming their partnership with another tour in 2026 - a collab album feels like a natural next step.
Or, perhaps Post is simply hinting at a double-album, similar to the Long Bed expanded version of F-1Trillion. Indeed, via a similar Twitch stream in late 2023, he announced that he was working on two albums, and this ended up being F-1Trillion (Long Bed).
Either way, we welcome the news that 2026 will feature plenty of new music from the Diamond-certified megastar. F-1Trillion proved one of the most influential releases of 2024 in the country sphere, and Post continues to reinvent the space with forward-thinking projects such as Austin Post Apparel. As we prepare to ring in a brand New Year this week, we can't wait to see what he has up his sleeve...
