For his debut country album, F-1Trillion, which arrived in August, Post Malone recruited a dazzling pantheon of stars for a lengthy, eclectic list of infectious collaborations.
As a result, when Posty launched his 2024 F-1Trillion tour, fans were anxiously speculating as to which special guests he'd bring out as he took his arsenal of chart-toppers on the road.
Excitingly, the latest country titan to emerge at Post Malone's show is Hootie and the Blowfish legend, Darius Rucker, with the duo performing ‘Don't Think I Don't Think About’ and one of the most iconic country hits of all time, ‘Wagon Wheel’, in South Carolina.
It felt apt that Post Malone would choose to bring Darius Rucker out at his Credit One Stadium show in Charleston, South Carolina, the beloved home-town of Rucker.
It's difficult to hear ‘Wagon Wheel’ and not feel the immediate urge to leap to your feet and start line-dancing, but even so, Post Malone and Darius Rucker managed to inject an additional dose of energy into the track as they delivered their playful rendition.
Before launching into Darius Rucker's signature anthem, the two artists treated the packed-out crowd to an energising take on the popular, will-they-won't they hit, ‘Don't Think I Don't Think About It’, which appeared on Rucker's 2008 album, Learn To Live.
For ‘Wagon Wheel’, Posty took over for a portion of the first verse and duetted the first iteration of the hook with Darius Rucker, before endearingly ditching his guitar and microphone, lighting up a cigarette and simply enjoying Rucker's performance of this classic track.
At the end of the song, Post Malone and Darius Rucker shared a warm embrace, with Posty crediting Rucker in his introduction with writing some of his favourite tracks ever.
Elsewhere during the ‘I Had Some Help’ hitmaker's electrifying performance in South Carolina, the fervent crowd were able to soak up stellar live versions of F-1Trillion stand-outs, such as ’Finer Things’, ‘Yours’, ‘California Sober’, ‘Guy For That’ and more.
As has become tradition, Post Malone serenaded attendees with countrified performances of his Diamond-certified rap chart-toppers, such as ‘Rockstar’, ‘Psycho’ and ‘Sunflower’.
Next up on Posty's list of tour-stops is Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Georgia, with a hotly anticipated date at Nashville's Nissan Stadium looming on Saturday, October 19th.
