It's likely an otherworldly moment meeting a member of The Beatles, but when Parker McCollum encountered the great Ringo Starr, he probably didn't expect the brief conversation that would unfold.
Just before performing an unreleased song at this year's Country Radio Seminar, the 'What Kinda Man' star informed the crowd of the story behind meeting the celebrated drummer.
"This is my fourth or fifth CRS and I still get a little bit nervous every time," he explained. "I don't know why. I think it's just because of the Ryman or whatever it is. Maybe it's because I met a Beatle this morning."
Earlier that day, he ran into Starr, who recently released his own country album, Look Up, and offered up introductions.
"I said, 'My name's Parker McCollum'," he shared, adding – with a put-on English accent – that the Beatle responded with, "I'm not going to remember that."
"I said, 'Yeah, not with that attitude'," he concluded to an uproar of laughter from the audience.
McCollum went on the perform an unreleased tune for the seminar attendees. Likely titled, 'Hope I'm Enough', the new song joins a slate of fresh music from the sensation as he continues to tease a return to his early sound.
