If there's any act you can trust to take over and command the stage of London's O2 Arena, it's Old Crow Medicine Show.
The six-piece old-time-swing-turned-rock band were the penultimate performance of the closing night of the C2C Festival weekend, warming up for headliners Zac Brown Band, and it's safe to say they left the arena considerably heated.
Performing since 1998, Old Crow Medicine Show's wealth of experience and virtuosity was abundantly clear throughout the set, which progressed its way through folky numbers to more intense, driven, rock and roll-infused tunes.
With a generally country radio-heavy C2C line-up, the band's broad range and depth of string instrumentation was a welcome change-up to the evening.
Featuring fiddle, banjo, upright bass, mandolin, dobro and more, Old Crow's performance was an amplified bluegrass party.
Ripping through trusty bangers like 'Wagon Wheel' and 'Methamphetamine', the band also offered a heated selection of covers, including Jerry Lee Lewis' 'Great Balls of Fire' and Alabama's 'Dixieland Delight'.
Considering they'd played the previous two nights in Dublin and Glasgow, Old Crow's ceaseless energy - members running, dancing, play-fighting, throwing and swapping instruments and jumping about the stage, all whilst playing at the speed of light - was something to behold.
