Noah Kahan has now released his long-awaited fan-favourite, ‘Forever’, along with his two final Stick Season collaborations - reimagined duet versions of ‘You're Gonna Go Far’ with Brandi Carlile and ‘Paul Revere’ with Gregory Alan Isakov.
Noah had been teasing ‘Forever’ for a number of months prior to the unveiling, with the ‘Northern Attitude’ hitmaker even including it in a couple of his setlists towards the end of 2023.
Although some fans were worried they'd have to wait ‘Forever’ before they could stream the much-loved track, listeners have now, at long last, been gifted the much-loved track as part of Noah Kahan's 2024 Stick Season (Forever) project.
What's more, Noah Kahan has also shared the last two revamped collaborations from his star-studded Stick Season era of duets, with new renditions of ‘Paul Revere’ and ‘You're Gonna Go Far’ being released alongside ‘Forever.
In his trademark cryptic style, the fast-emerging Vermont singer-songwriter initially teased which artists will be featuring on ‘Paul Revere’ and ‘You're Gonna Go Far’. In late January, Noah confirmed that Gregory Alan Isakov would provide guest vocals on ‘Paul Revere’, with Brandi Carlile appearing on ‘You're Gonna Go Far’.
Judging by the number of blank spaces on the ‘Paul Revere’ guest-spot, most fans had already deduced that it would most likely be Noah's fellow alt-folk trailblazer, Gregory Alan Isakov.
The featured artist on ‘You're Gonna Go Far’ was less clear, with both ‘Marcus Mumford’ and ‘Olivia Rodrigo’ fitting into the blanks. The latter covered Noah Kahan's ‘Stick Season’ during a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session last year, before Noah returned the favour by delivering a stellar performance of Olivia Rodrigo's ‘Lacy’.
Many had been predicting that Noah and Olivia, who have endearingly become good friends of late, might team up for a new version of ‘Stick Season’, but it seems Noah is closing his collaborative Stick Season era of collaborations for the time being.
Nonetheless, Brandi Carlile's inclusion on ‘You're Gonna Go Far’ has been widely celebrated, with Noah Kahan praising the multi-Grammy winning artist's take on his track, “The honor of all honors...It felt like I was floating when I listened to her version”.
These mark the last of Noah's Stick Season collaboration series, with the chart-topping artist having dropped duets with Post Malone (‘Dial Drunk’), Lizzy McAlpine (‘Call Your Mom’), Kacey Musgraves (‘She Calls Me Back’), Hozier (‘Northern Attitude’), Gracie Abrams (‘Everywhere, Everything’) and Sam Fender (‘Homesick’).
