It's hard to think of two artists that are dominating the folk space in the way that Noah Kahan and Hozier have been for the past couple of years, with the duo teaming up for a revamped version of Kahan's ‘Northern Attitude’ towards the end of 2023.
They've since joined forces on-stage at Railbird Festival, and the two good friends often show up for one another across socials. When they collaborated on ‘Northern Attitude’, Kahan underlined how Hozier has been a longstanding influence on him.
Now, with Hozier just following in the footsteps of Noah Kahan by taking the stage at the home of the Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park, earlier in the week, Kahan has taken to Instagram to express his congratulations to the ‘Too Sweet’ singer-songwriter.
Underneath an Instagram carousel from the show, Noah Kahan has gushed, “Hope you enjoyed it man! Looked like an epic show”. A slew of fans have subsequently replied, playfully asking why Kahan didn't make an appearance as a surprise guest.
Elsewhere during Hozier's spellbinding Fenway Park set, he treated the packed-out audience to a stunning rendition of ‘Work Song’ alongside ‘Sailor Song’ prodigy, Gigi Perez.
Noah Kahan headlined the iconic venue last summer, with the double-header remaining one of the most iconic moments of the ‘Dial Drunk’ hitmaker's storied career so far. Kahan offered fans a memento from those shows with his Live From Fenway project.
We think it's about time that Hozier and Kahan teamed up for another collaboration, especially given how powerful their vocals sound together on ‘Northern Attitude’.
With Hozier usually taking lengthy breaks in-between albums, the fact that he dropped his lauded third album, Unreal Unearth, less than two years ago makes us think we'll be waiting a bit longer before we get another body of work from the folk trailblazer.
Noah Kahan, on the other hand, has confirmed he's currently honing his eagerly anticipated Stick Season follow-up album, and we're keeping our fingers crossed the Vermont native finds time to hit the studio with Hozier ahead of that project.
