During the first night of his two-show run at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, Morgan Wallen was joined by former New York Giants quarterback, Eli Manning, for his walk-out.
The now-iconic pre-show walk, which is broadcast across the venue's jumbotrons, has become a much-loved staple of Morgan's shows in the past couple of years, with the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker often bringing along special guests to take part.
In recent months, Morgan Wallen has been joined by the likes of Theo Von, DeAndre Hopkins, Pat McAfee and Tyrese Haliburton, and at his momentous set in East Rutherford, New Jersey this weekend, the Sneedville megastar continued this country-sports crossover theme by bringing along NFL star, Eli Manning, for his walk-out.
Eli and his brother, fellow sports personality, Peyton Manning, helped Morgan break the news of his 2024 One Night At A Time tour reveal in hilarious fashion. After Peyton donned a fake mullet and started singing in the social media clip, Morgan opted for Eli to make the announcement instead, much to Peyton's tongue-in-cheek chagrin.
Morgan Wallen always seems energised by his trademark walk-out and the ferocious Lil Durk duet, ‘Broadway Girls’, that soundtracks this part of the show, but he seemed even more fired up than usual as he stormed towards the stage alongside Eli.
Such was his sense of anticipation ahead of the show, Morgan's walk-out quickly transformed into a run-out, as he decided to sprint up the ramp and assume his position, before kicking through the ‘MW’ sign and launching the show with ‘Ain't That Some’.
He then proceeded to charge through his expansive catalogue of hits, from the electric, rip-roaring ‘You Proof’, ‘Whiskey Friends’ and ‘Sunrise’ to the comparatively intricate, balladic ‘Sand in My Boots’, ’Cover Me Up’ and ‘Thought You Should Know’.
Morgan Wallen has made a habit of performing his unreleased fan-favourite, ’Lies, Lies, Lies’, during his 2024 shows, and we're hoping he soon decides to treat fans to the live debut of his recently teased, pop-infused track, ’Love Somebody’, which is expected to feature on Morgan's forthcoming One Thing At A Time follow-up.
