After going the best part of 30 years without a concert, Morgan Wallen brought live music back Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium with an electrifying, hit-filled performance.
The set was peppered with anthemic earworms, spellbinding ballads and crowd-pleasing special guests, with Wallen linking up with both Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert.
As was expected, Ella Langley joined forces with Morgan Wallen for one of the many stand-outs from Wallen's new album, I'm the Problem, ‘What I Want’. The original version features pop phenom Tate McRae, but Langley undoubtedly did the song justice, with the ‘you look like you love me’ singer-songwriter showcasing the charisma and swagger she's become synonymous with over the past year or so.
We thought Miranda Lambert would emerge on-stage too, but rather than singing the song she co-wrote with Morgan Wallen, ‘Thought You Should Know’, the two country titans instead delivered a captivating duet of the rowdy, uptempo ‘Cowgirls’.
It was a blockbuster set that again highlights exactly why Morgan Wallen has blossomed into the biggest country star on the planet, with the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper storming across the stage with endless amounts of energy, ensuring this sprawling and wildly entertaining 26-song set felt like it passed by in the blink of an eye.
With Wallen returning to Camp Randall Stadium tonight (Sunday, June 29th) for night two, we can't wait to see what else the genre-blending maverick has in store for the Madison crowd.
