Megan Moroney has treated fans to an early preview of her eagerly anticipated Ed Sheeran collaboration, ‘I Only Miss You’, which is set to appear on her new album, Cloud 9.

Alongside the caption, “1 month til the album”, Moroney has uploaded a snippet of the track - and it's safe to say this tantalising clip has made us even more excited for the ‘Tennessee Orange’ singer-songwriter's forthcoming project (if that's even possible).

‘I Only Miss You’, which was penned by Moroney and Sheeran alongside, Micah Carpenter, Mackenzie Carpenter and Ben Williams, finds the duo crooning longingly to one another across a refreshingly traditional-leaning, steel-soaked instrumental.

Moroney confirmed during a recent Instagram Live that her latest single, ‘Wish I Didn't’, is one of the most pop-leaning songs on Cloud 9, and that there's plenty of classic country on the project. ‘I Only Miss You’ undoubtedly falls into the latter category.

Moroney has spoken about her blossoming friendship with UK hitmaker Ed Sheeran in a number of previous interviews, with the duo previously performing together during a New York pop-up in October and at Nashville's iconic Bluebird Café in March.

Sheeran regularly pays tribute to Moroney's artistry, revealing that he and his wife, Cherry, listen to the Georgia native's 2024 album, Am I Okay?, on repeat while they're at home.

‘I Only Miss You’ will undoubtedly be one of the most keenly awaited songs on Moroney's new album, along with another blockbuster collaboration, ‘Bells & Whistles’ with Kacey Musgraves. Cloud 9 arrives on February 20th, and will also feature the already-released ‘Wish I Didn't’, ‘6 Months Later’ and ‘Beautiful Things’, along with the long-teased fan-favourites, ‘Table For Two’ and ‘Wedding Dress’.
