Megan Moroney has shared a live performance video for her longstanding unreleased fan-favourite, ‘Beautiful Things’, on YouTube. With Moroney's keenly awaited third album seemingly on the horizon, we're wondering if this will be her next single.

Moroney has been teasing the intricate, heartwarming ode throughout the year, with the Georgia native performing the stripped-back track during her first ever appearance at Nashville's legendary Bluebird Café alongside Ed Sheeran back in March 2025.

It finds the ‘Tennessee Orange’ hitmaker offering some sage words of advice to her niece, drawing on her own experiences at school and reeling off a wonderfully vibrant array of metaphors to reassure her that “the world is hard on beautiful things”.

As we outlined earlier in the week, we have an inkling that Megan Moroney might be gearing up for an album announcement very soon. With the ‘Heaven by Noon’ singer-songwriter now dropping her first ever full performance of ‘Beautiful Things’ on YouTube, could this be the next single we're getting from her third chapter?

Given how Moroney has been teasing the song for months now, we suspect this could be the next preview of the record, and could even accompany the album announcement.

Moroney is appearing on Late Night with Seth Myers next week, and with her birthday a couple of days later (October 9th), it feels like this is shaping up to be a pivotal period in the album rollout. As well as ‘Beautiful Things’, we've had a teaser for ‘Table for Two’, but this feels like it's being readied as an album cut, rather than a lead single.

If we are about to get the studio version of ‘Beautiful Things’, it will seemingly join ‘6 Months Later’ and ‘You Had To Be There’ with Kenny Chesney on the forthcoming project.

We've had both of these top-tier anthems on repeat, and based on these tracks alone, we don't think it's premature to say MM3 will be a candidate for Album of the Year.

We're keeping our fingers crossed it'll be dropping before 2025 is out, with Moroney so far sticking to her one-album-per-year schedule, with Lucky arriving in 2023 and Am I Okay? dropping in 2024. The colour theme for this next project is all but confirmed to be purple, based on the Easter Eggs Moroney has been dropping across social media and in her ‘6 Months Later’ music video.

We'll have to wait and see what the country trailblazer has up her sleeve for October, but it looks like her Seth Myers interview on October 7th and her birthday on the 9th will be two key dates on which we'll learn more about her album plans...
