There's a new member of the Posty Pup Patrol!
Post Malone has adopted a new chocolate Labrador Retriever, Lewellyn, with the ‘I Had Some Help’ hitmaker taking him cowboy hat shopping at Fort Worth's Best Hat store.
Post has adopted Lewellyn from Old Red Kennels, with the puppy shelter sharing a selection of heartwarming photos and videos in an update on Lewellyn's progress.
Lewellyn is currently in the middle of training to become a ‘bird dog’, which will mean he'll be able to join Post on future duck-hunting trips and play a key role in retrieving game.
Old Red Kennels has gushed, “Lewellyn got to spend a few days with his dad this weekend! Very proud of the way he handled himself and all the “distractions”. I am extremely grateful to @eric.teson & @habitatflatskennels for getting him started the right way! It has been a blast to continue his training over the past 6 months!”
They went on, “Stable minded, hard charging, driven pup that has become just as enjoyable in the house and out in public as he is to work in the field. Headed North soon to chase some birds and get dropped off for good! He’s going to live the best life!”
With Post Malone now firmly established within the country music world, it feels like it's only a matter of time until we get our first ‘dog song’ from the ‘Chemical’ crooner.
Various country singer-songwriters have drawn on their relationship with man's best friend to craft some truly evocative odes, such as the likes of Chris Stapleton's ‘Maggie's Song’, Blake Shelton's ‘Ol’ Red’, Chase Rice's ‘Bench Seat’ and HARDY's ’Dog Years’. With Posty rumoured to be working on his keenly awaited F-1Trillion follow-up album, we hope little Lewellyn is offering some inspiration...
