In a new interview, Luke Combs has revealed his pick for 2024 ACM Entertainer of the Year, with Luke opting for his good buddy and ‘Miles On It’ hitmaker, Kane Brown.
This year it's a packed roster of candidates, with Luke and Kane joined by Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Jelly Roll in a category that, for the first time in recent memory, feels as though each artist has a feasible claim to glory.
Even so, Kane Brown will be one of the underdogs for the coveted accolade, with most judging this to be a three-way battle between Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson.
In his conversation with Taste Of Country, though, Luke Combs touched on how he feels Kane has been an overlooked figure in country music for too long, and it's time he got due credit.
When asked who he'd like to see win ACM Entertainer of the Year, Luke shared, “I think Kane Brown. I think that he has never gotten the recognition that I think that he deserves, and I think that he works really hard. I think it’d be really cool to see him take it home”.
Although his live performances sometimes garner criticism when compared to the blockbuster sets Luke and Morgan deliver, in terms of streaming figures, Kane is certainly a heavyweight and significantly outpaces the likes of Cody Johnson and Lainey Wilson.
Nonetheless, when taking into account all the criteria, our prediction stands that, given his chart dominance, touring might and all-round success over the past twelve months, the leading candidate for the biggest award of the night should be Morgan, with Luke and Lainey also strong contenders for 2024 ACM Entertainer of the Year.
