We think it's pretty darn hard to find a reason not to like Luke Combs, with the affable hitmaker today reminding us why he's one of the most beloved stars in modern country music.

The North Carolina native has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to his eldest son, Tex, on his third birthday. In the lengthy message, Luke Combs has reflected on their time together so far, expressing his gratitude for the experiences they've shared.

It's a beautiful sentiment, and the overwhelming love he feels for his children permeates his most recent record, the evocative and criminally underrated Fathers & Sons.

In his new post, which Luke Combs has accompanied by a carousel of heartwarming photos of him with Tex and his other son, Beau, along with his wife, Nicole, Combs muses, “T-Man. I can’t believe you’re 3 (for Dale) years old already. I went through my phone this morning before you and your brother woke up to try and find these photos. That took me on a journey down memory lane that brought me to tears. Talk about the best Father’s Day gift of all time buddy. That’s you”.

The ‘Hurricane’ chart-topper went on, “We’ve had so much fun, made so many memories, and I can’t wait for the ones up ahead. Me and your Mama are so lucky to be your parents. We’re so proud of you, and we love you so much. Happy Birthday buddy”.

We're not crying, you are.

Elsewhere on his socials, Luke Combs has teased the beginning of his next musical era, with the ‘Beautiful Crazy’ singer-songwriter sharing cryptically, “I've actually already told y'all the name of my next song coming out”. We're hoping it's ‘My Kinda Saturday Night’, a rowdy, honky-tonkin’ anthem that Combs has been sharing in recent weeks, but it could be other unreleased offerings he performed earlier in the year, such as ‘Ain't No Cowboy’ or ‘Wish Upon a Whiskey’.

Either way, the excitement levels are through the roof as Luke Combs continues to tease a return to the more playful, uptempo sound that pervaded his beloved earlier records, such as This One's For You and What You See Is What You Get.

Given the fact that Combs has confirmed to fans he's already stated the name of his next single, this implies the rollout plan for his forthcoming album is already taking shape.

We're keeping our fingers crossed he'll be revealing more in the coming weeks. We loved the intimacy and vulnerability of Fathers & Sons, but we're also looking forward to hearing the country titan dropping some more energising earworms in the mould of ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’, ‘My Kinda Folk’ and ‘When It Rains It Pours’.
