Lainey Wilson has confirmed she'll release her long-teased collaboration with Miranda Lambert, ‘Good Horses’, on August 2, ahead of her highly anticipated new album, Whirlwind.

The full project is set to drop on August 23, and alongside ‘Good Horses’, will feature the already-released singles, ‘Country's Cool Again’, ‘Hang Tight Honey’ and ‘4X4XU’.

‘Good Horses’ will seemingly serve as the final ‘grat track’ to arrive ahead of Whirlwind, with Lainey Wilson uploading a video of her and Miranda Lambert performing the new song during her headlining set at Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater in May, accompanied by the caption, “Can’t wait to share this one with y’all”.

Lainey Wilson confirmed the week after this duet at CMA Fest 2024 that the track would be appearing on her album, with the ‘Heart Like a Truck’ hitmaker sharing, “If you were at the Nashville shows last week, one of the artists came out and did a song with me that we sang together called ‘Good Horses’. I'm so excited, it's incredible”.

The news arrives a matter of days after Miranda Lambert announced her own album, Postcards From Texas, with the Lone-Star state singer-songwriter dropping the project three weeks after Lainey's, on September 13. To celebrate the unveiling, Miranda made her new single, ‘Alimony’, immediately available across all platforms.

‘Good Horses’ finds Lainey and Miranda crooning warmly to their respective lovers, using the evocative metaphor of horses running home to highlight how they need to know their partners will always find their way back, regardless of what happens on the journey.
