Kelsea Ballerini took a step away from hosting duties during the 2024 CMT Awards to perform her revamped rendition of her fan-favourite hit, ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’.
The Knoxville singer-songwriter released ‘Love Me Like You Mean It (Reimagined)’ a couple of days ago to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the original track's release.
Ballerini brought her signature swagger to Austin's Moody Center for the performance, with the ‘Dibs’ hitmaker showcasing the infectious track in a brand new light by stripping back the composition and allowing the spotlight to fall on her stellar vocals.
Kelsea Ballerini's live take on ‘Love Me Like You Mean It (Reimagined)’ consolidated her shift towards the sleeker, more R&B-inspired sound that permeated Rolling Up The Welcome Mat. Through the new arrangement, Ballerini offers a fresh twist on the chart-topping track, while still paying homage to the 2014 version and reminding listeners why they first fell in love with her distinctive sound.
Ballerini has become the face of the CMT Awards over the past four years, serving as co-host since 2020. This ceremony marked the first time, though, that she took the helm as the solo host, with Ballerini leading proceedings with the same confidence and assurance she brought to her ‘Love Me Like You Mean It (Reimagined)’ performance, which will no doubt be championed as one of the many stand-outs in the spectacular Texas event.
Before taking the stage, in the midst of showing off her seasoned hosting skills, she also teamed up with Melissa Etheridge for an acoustic cover of 'Come To My Window', which got the Austin audience singing and swinging along.
During the star-studded evening, the 2024 CMT Awards enjoyed captivating performances from Parker McCollum & Brittney Spencer, Trisha Yearwood, Bailey Zimmerman and more.
