Jordan Davis has earned his first UK Country Airplay Chart No. 1, with his infectious single, ‘Tucson Too Late’, securing the top spot on this week's frame (March 29th - April 4th).
The laidback heartbreak anthem has surged to the pinnacle of the chart, displacing Conner Smith's ‘Creek Will Rise’, which held onto No. 1 for three nonconsecutive weeks.
Davis’ ‘Tucson Too Late’ appeared on the Louisiana singer-songwriter's acclaimed 2023 album, Bluebird Days, which also contains the US chart-toppers, ‘Buy Dirt’ with Luke Bryan, ‘Next Thing You Know’ and ‘What My World Spins Around’.
‘Tucson Too Late’ epitomises Davis’ signature, captivating infusion of classic country lyricism and melodies with contemporary, R&B-leaning instrumentals and drum patterns.
The song earned 712,659 impressions across four radio stations during the tracking period, an 8% increase on the previous week, with Cody Johnson's endearing ode to his wife, ‘The Painter’, following behind with 711, 191 impressions.
At No. 3 this week is Warren Zeiders’ viral fan-favourite, ‘Pretty Little Poison’, which seems poised to take the top spot in the coming weeks. Hot on his heels is Kane Brown's electric, Phil Collins-interpolating ‘I Can Feel It’, which is expected to feature on the ‘Thank God’ hitmaker's eagerly awaited new album later this year.
Completing the top five is Parker McCollum's fiery Never Enough stand-out, ‘Burn It Down’, which is expected to hit No. 1 on both sides of the Atlantic in the next couple of weeks.
The biggest mover on the UK Country Airplay Chart is Zach Top's neo-traditional gem, ‘Sounds Like The Radio’, which enjoyed a staggering 2526% jump in impressions during this frame. The fast-emerging artist released his widely lauded debut full-length album, Cold Beer & Country Music, on Friday (April 5th).
