Jimmie Allen and Brad Paisley have collaborated on their new duet ‘Freedom Was A Highway’.
The song, which is the latest single from Allen’s ‘Bettie James’ EP, has hit-potential - Paisley’s Country twang blends effortlessly with Allen’s more contemporary pop vocals.
The track was written by Jimmie Allen, Ash Bowers (who also produced) and Matt Rogers.
Allen says, “As soon as we’d finished writing it, I started to think this could be a collaboration with Brad paisley”, you can see why - the song possessing a signature guitar solo from Paisley in the bridge.
The high-energy track is filled with nostalgia, longing to go back to simpler times.
Allen has had success on the charts in the past with the likes of ‘Best Shot’ and Make Me Want You’ which were both slow-burners; ‘Freedom Was A Highway’ has the potential to be a radio hit from the off.
Though it clings to the past and the dark side of nostalgia it drives forward and has a carefree, feel good vibe to the production.
