Excitingly, Jessie Murph has incorporated her unreleased fan-favourite track, ‘Sip’, into her setlist as the fast-emerging continues her popular 2024 tour across the US.
First teased earlier in the month, ’Sip’ has quickly spread across TikTok, with fans urging the Tennessee singer-songwriter to release the simmering, sensual offering in the coming weeks.
The ‘Someone in This Room’ hitmaker has been teasing ‘Sip’ across her socials with a flurry of posts, including a couple of recent clips from her tour-stops of Jessie Murph performing the track. As always, the up-and-comer brings a sense of swagger and playfulness to her live show, with Murph capturing the tongue-in-cheek feel of the line, “Somethin’ bout the way he stands / With a Roscoe in his waistband”. She continues to joke that fans haven't understood the real meaning of the lyric.
Initially, Jessie Murph was just sharing a recorded version of ‘Sip’ during the VIP pre-show soundcheck experience, with a handful of fans getting to hear a longer portion of the track. Now, though, Murph is thankfully performing the full song during her main set.
Jessie Murph has accompanied this latest snippet with the caption, “Need to put this song out rn”, which seemingly hints that she's preparing to drop ‘Sip’ at long last in the near future.
Given the fact that the genre-blending maverick has been teasing another unreleased offering, ‘Blue Strips’, via TikTok, some suspect she has a deluxe album on the way featuring these new tracks. In early September, Jessie Murph released her sophomore record, That Ain't No Man That's The Devil, which has spawned much-loved songs such as ‘Dirty’ with Teddy Swims, ‘Wild Ones‘ with Jelly Roll, ‘Love Lies’ and more.
Jessie Murph's 2024 tour concludes on November 23rd, so perhaps she's eyeing up that week as the right time to drop these unreleased tracks, and potentially a full deluxe project. With snippets of this infectious earworm, ‘Sip’, continuing to flood fans’ ‘For You’ pages on TikTok, we're keeping our fingers crossed that Murph decides to release it sooner than that, with the rapidly increasing number of teasers hopefully hinting that the rollout for the new track is picking up pace.
